Prayer requests from India, Laos, and Ethiopia

Please pray for a group of Christians in a small village in Karnataka state, India.  For months, those who opposed them played music loudly outside their place of worship.  Then, it escalated into violence when an angry mob broke in and physically attacked the pastors inside.  So far, the official response has been instructing the Christians to stop worshipping.  You can read more about it here: http://www.compassdirect.org/english/country/india/article_1650052.html.

Can you imagine being imprisoned because you believe in Jesus?  Then, one day, you are sent to gather wood without a guard.  You run home, grab some Bibles, and return to prison, smuggling the Bibles inside.  The freedom God brings you through His Word is worth that much.  Had you been caught, your situation would have only gotten worse.  Read the story of Bounchan, who spend thirteen years in prison in Laos for his faith, and be inspired to pray for other Christians suffering in Laos.  You can read his story here: http://www.kidsofcourage.com/?p=5438.

Teamwork and unity.  God has blessed several organizations working for Bible translation in Ethiopia with these gifts.  Much work needs to be done to bring the Bible to all the people of Ethiopia, as only a small fraction of them have the Bible in their native language.  Please pray for their continued teamwork and success.  You can read their story here: http://www.wycliffe.org/frontlines/3.aspx.
